Professor Zhang Suojiang Ph. D.
Prof. Zhang is Director General of Institute of Process Engineering (IPE), Chinese Academy of Sciences. He is “National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scientists” Winner, 973 Chief Scientist, and fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry. Prof. Zhang graduated and received his Ph.D. degree from the Department of Chemistry of Zhejiang University in 1994, and then he joined in Beijing University of Chemical Technology as the postdoctoral fellow. In 1995 he won the scholarship of Japanese Ministry of Education and went to Japan to do research in Nihon University. In 1997, he was employed as senior engineer by Mitsubishi Chemical Corporation. From 2001, he started to work in IPE as the “Hundred Talents". He is the Editor in Chief of Process Engineering Journal of China, and is serving as Editorial Board Members of several international journals such as Industrial & Engineering Chemistry Research, Greenhouse Gases: Science and Technology, Science China Chemistry and so on. Prof. Zhang mainly engages in ionic liquids and green process engineering. He has published more than 340 papers and more than 60 patents, more than 4900 times cited by others, and also edited or written 6 monographs. He won a number of awards, such as the Second Class Prize of National Natural Science Award in 2010 and Hou Debang Chemical Science and Technology Achievement Award in 2014.
He edited 4 books and 1 chapter; and filed 52 patents for invention, among which 14 were authorized. He earned 3 awards in the field of ionic liquids and green process engineering.
