Value-added Processes for Tar and Pyrolysis Gas

In developing the transport bed methanation, obvious progress was made in preparing the granulated powder catalyst like FCC catalyst in appearance. A new technical way was established to prepare the granular catalyst with attrition resistance similar to that of FCC catalyst, while its activity for methanation meets the requirement for transport bed, which is actually lower than that for the fixed bed methanation. A mini catalyst production line has been built to prepare the catalyst for fixed bed reactor by extrusion and for transport (fluidized) bed reactor by spray granulation. Furthermore, a 200 Nm3/h pilot testing system for the transport-fixed bed two-stage methanation process is also under way of construction, which will be used to test the two-stage process and also to evaluate the catalysts for fixed and transport beds
