The Reactions of Cellulous Dissolution and Conversion in Ionic Liquids

The new technology of dissolution, separation and conversion of biomass based on ILs has received increased attention during the past few years. For the conversion of biomass, it was found for the first time that C-C can be formed between angelica lactones through free radical reaction at mild conditions, which gave the carbon chain prolonged products with complete conversion and 100% selectivity. Because no solvent is used for the reaction, the energy consumed for the separarion and resulting contamination are eliminated. Hydrogenation of the products from C-C formation produced alkanes composed of C6-C15 hydrocarbons for fuels.
